I’ve been feeling lately when talking to teachers about their development that I have a tendency to forget about the developmental stages I went through early on – I’m not sure I’ve been as empathetic as I could be and sometimes maybe expected too much too soon.
Through this blog, I’d like to think back over my teaching career so far and identify those stages.
I think it’s important for me to consider carefully what I can do in class now after 10 years of teaching that I couldn’t do when I first started; perhaps by identifying these things, I can be more realistic and effective when working with teachers on their development.
